There are different types of Groups to assist you on the journey of becoming all that God intends you to be. Each type of group has strengths, and depending on the season of life you find yourself in, one may be a better fit than others.
These groups are designed for all ages...Children...Students...and Adults. You can find out more about our Children and Students on their pages of this website. Northside GroupLife for adults consists of young adults entering college-life through Senior Adults. You'll find groups for men, women, couples, singles, students, and children to connect God and each other through Scripture. At Northside, we center our lives around Christ as revealed in Scripture, and view it as our blueprint for life. If you attend a Sunday School Group, you will survey the entire Bible across a five year period...Think of a helicopter view of the Old and New Testament.
These short-termed groups meet mainly on Sunday and Wednesday evenings and are our discipleship courses that will challenge you in your maturity as you grow in Christ. Discipleship Groups generally run between 6-12 weeks, depending on the curriculum. DG Groups begin the week of January 29th...more information coming soon. Our short-term groups are winding down for the summer. You can expect to see a new line-up of groups in September of 2017.
Small groups meet on and off campus throughout the week. Like Sunday School Groups, they are ongoing through most of the year. Small Groups work in cooperation with the Discipleship Pastor to select appropriate curriculum for their specific season of life. There are small groups for men, women, and co-ed groups. To find out about our Small Groups that are currently meeting, call the church office at 361-578-1568.
Journey Groups meet during the week at various locations. Journey Groups are gender based groups that are designed to build God honoring relationships through community and accountability. Members meet to pray for and encourage one another on the journey of becoming all that God intends them to be. Gatherings usually consist of a brief devotional, share time, and a time of prayer for one another. If you desire a "Band of Brothers" or "Circle of Sisters" for the journey contact email@example.com to learn more.
In the Fall of 2015 we added Support Groups to the arsenal of Northside GroupLife. If you, a family member, or a friend has been diagnosed with cancer, you may want to consider contacting OUR JOURNEY OF HOPE cancer support ministry at Northside. Veteran Cancer Survivors will walk with you on your journey. They can tell you about their experience and share practical encouragement they found when they were diagnosed. Most importantly, you'll make friends with people who really "know what you are going through." Interested in starting a specific support group that fits into the culture of Northside? If so, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tell us about yourself, and we'll assist you in finding a group that's the right fit for you.
