No Sunday School, as volunteers are being housed throughout our campus.
We expect to resume our normal schedule on September 17.

  • All storm supplies were given out Saturday.
  • Meals are still being delivered to those affected by the storm.
  • 100 volunteers from Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief and the American Red Cross are being housed in our facilities.
  • Those needing help with free roof tarp service or tree cutting can register in person with the Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief team at Northside Baptist Church - 4100 N. Laurent.

We are presently housing 100 volunteers in our facilities. The good folks camping in your Sunday School rooms are from the American Red Cross and Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief teams. We appreciate their selfless service in providing meals, tarps, and chain saw services to the victims of Harvey.


Wednesday, August 30 - Update # 2 - 4PM
- NO Wednesday Activities - No Power-

Northside is responding to the evolving needs of our community by working with a number of volunteer organizations, including Victoria County Interfaith and The Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief Unit (located at Northside). The Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief unit is setting up to provide up to 9000 meals per day. Delivery trucks called "Canteens" will be distributing those meals directly to the areas of greatest need.

  • How/where to get direct help (Clean-up, repair, tarps, etc.)
    • Victims of Harvey needing direct assistance will be directed to the Needs Assessment center.
      Contact Mark at Faith Family church.
    • The Samaritan's Purse number is (361) 484-5437. They can help with tarping roofs, but cannot tarp rental property. They will provide a tarp if you wish to help a neighbor in rental property.
    • House damage should be reported to FEMA.
  • Volunteer
    • All who wish to volunteer their time in helping in the Victoria area are directed to the Samaritan's Purse and Convoy of Hope tents at the Faith Family Parking lot. Check in at 7AM to receive your t-shirt and your assignment.

      • Background checks will be run for volunteers wishing to stay overnight at Faith Family.
    • Note: Construction teams will need city permits for electrical and major reconstruction. Contact 700 Main Center Suite 128 (intersection of Main and North Streets).
  • How to Give
    • Victoria County Interfaith is establishing a GoFundMe account to help local relief agencies. The board of Victoria Interfaith will distribute the funds.
  • Other Kinds of Donations
    • While clothing needs are few, Restoration House and Seventh Day Adventist Church will take in household/clothing items.
  • Medical Needs
    • The American Red Cross and Heart to Heart Mobile Medical Clinic are at Faith Family Church

Tuesday, August 29

As of late Tuesday afternoon, the power had not been restored at the church. Crews are working in the neighborhood, but no completion date has been projected.

  • The church office remains closed.
  • No Wednesday evening activities


Monday, August 28

  • The church facilities have sustained only minor water damage so far, but we still have no electricity. All activities are suspended until we can provide a safe environment.
  • The volunteers of the Texas Baptist Disaster Relief team are set up in our East parking lot to provide hot meals and minister to our neighborhood.

Pray for first responders and our neighbors. Power and water are being restored as quickly as possible , owing to the tireless efforts of electric company linemen and City of Victoria employees. We will be back, stronger than ever. God is still in control.
